“Why POSTHOUSE?” Is a question we have been asked quite a few times since we opened our doors. The reason is very simple, it’s because of the Cross roads mailing post which is just over the road from us, based outside the stag pub.
Believe it or not the post is a grade 2 listed piece of building and was officially listed as protected in 1966. The post was used as a marker for the junction between historic rights of way & its existence was first recorded around 1607.
At posthouse we are extremely proud to have opened our first bar here in Orrell and aim to work with the local community, whether that be through events, stocking local produce or supporting it in many other ways. We love it here and we hope you love us to!”
